Meeting Points
All around us, natural landscapes have been altered for the sake of our own livability. Highways slice through forests, overpasses tower above our heads, and radio towers ascend into the open sky. Despite these man made developments, we must still conform to the natural structure of the earth. We construct our roads, develop our buildings, and alter the ground according to the limitations of the natural landscape. I have been photographing these interactions, the meeting point between the natural and manmade, and how our infrastructure complies with the natural landscape. Our shaping of the earth raises questions of the cost of development, the lasting impact it leaves, and the permanence of the structures put in place.
